Four of us friends are vacationing in AC at the end of January. We are looking for lodging with a pool, ocean view rooms, air conditioning in rooms, access to town (cart, bikes, etc). There are a few recommended places we have been told of- has anyone heard of or stayed in any of the following places...
Caribe Island Resort
Mata Rocks
Ramon Village
Villas at Banyan Bay
Paradise Villas
The Palms

We also welcome any other suggestions. Thanks!

Three couples (three generations of us) stayed at Caribe Island Resort in Nov., shortly after the hurricane. It was 90 percent up and going at that time. It was very adequate, though 3 miles from town )(about a 20-minute bike ride). Kitchenette, nice pool, poolside bar, dining room if you want. Activities director ... they can arrange all. In the past we also have enjoyed Cap;t. Morgan's Retreat, north of town, which wasn't in great shape in Nov., although Capt. Morgan's had reopened with new bar and dining room, super pool, rough ride to town by bike, but that's part of it. Has some 20 casitas (thatched roof and all, now with air and small refrigerator) and condos/time shares for rent.
