Looking for information on booking an overnight trip to Tikal from San Pedro. Couldn't find much detail as far as which tour operators offer this and if there are choices of places to stay in Flores. We won't be down there until March but would like to research and possibly book this before we arrive.

Am very anxious for the Belize warmth ... from the weather and the people!

Thanks for any help that you can give.

Hi,
We did the overnight and loved it. Tropic air has a package. 280 for the whole thing.
you can also do a 3 day I believe.

Flores is a great little town. Make sure you go to the highest point around 7 pm and hang out with the locals. Everyone is there playing basketball, kickball...

Any questions, just ask

Kerri

We just did this trip last week. The way yo do it, in my opinion, is to fly in in the morning, on the 8:30 TROPIC AIR flight, stay over in the park, and fly home the next afternoon on the 3:30 flight. We stayed at The Jungle Lodge, $70US, and had a great time. That way you can go into the park before dawn, and climb to the top of Temple IV to see the sun rise. It will be a highpoint of your life. You can pay a guide about $2 to take you. You'll get to hear Howler monkeys in the middle of the night. There are 2 other hotels, we liked this one. You must start trying to make reservations now though. You pay by check in advance to their Miami bank, then fax the cancelled check. Strictly up and up.

question on the jungle area near belmopan. we want to get off the ac for a side trip and see some ruins. chaa creek and blancaneaux sound awesome but pricey. are they more of a destination in themselves or a place to stay if visiting Tikal. Is Tikal better than El Pilar?

Is chaa creek worth the money? do you drive out here or fly?
