I swear I have looked everywehere to confirm this, but I can not find this place on any map I have been able to find for AC (It's a pet peeve type deal for me). So kettle, can anyone give me a geographical reference as to where Royal Caribbean Resort is at? Street names do no good for me, I am a turn right at the big blue building or just past the Belikin distributor type of guy. I swear I have seen this place south of town (way south) but I can not remember if it was before or after Victoria house or what other major landmark it was close too. I have always stayed more in town than this in the past, but the rates look good. Is this an old club med deal, it layout is strikingly similar to several I have seen in other countries? Anyone have any comments about this resort, We are coming down Memorial weekend.....
Thanks for the input in advance

It is located south of town right before the Sand Bar. The compound looks sort of like military housing with all the little yellow box buildings lined up.

Most of the folks who I have spoken with actually like the complex and its location. Certainly not my favorite look for a resort. It is located just south of Victoria House and accessible via paved road by taxi and or golf cart. It is exactly 2 miles south of San Pedro Town Center and a nice bike ride or walk.
Thanks for the map, I know exactly where it is now. The water plant is definitely one of the landmarks I generally use. Now I just have to decide if I want to stay that far outside of civilization..... I love how my thinking changes when I step foot on AC it's no problem to drive 25 miles each way to work here, but get me a mile or so out of town on the island (to stay) and I'm about to fall off the edge of the earth.....

It's all relative D.O.A... But yes, 2 miles is a long distance to stagger home... Wouldn't be my choice but do hear the rooms are nice. And there is a cool bar next door, a nice pool, along with the bowling alley.

I stayed at the Belize Yacht Club in February for $85 a night and it was GREAT!!!!! Just a short 10 minute walk into town, a swim-up bar and nice pool , VERY quiet, kitchens in most units. You should call them directly for better rates - if you look online, they are much higher. I vote for the BYC!! I will ALWAYS stay there from now on...

Addendum: Actually, my favorite place is Changes in Latitude - it was full (for good reason!) last time I was there so I was just focusing on my last trip, which started in a place I will not name, but was awful, so I changed to BYC. However, the next time I am there, I will stay at CIL and enjoy the pool and swim-up bar at BYC. You can't get much better than Cindy & Renita!!
