MEXICO DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME STARTS ON SUNDAY 5 APRIL 2009
- In Mexico, clocks go forward one hour on Sunday 5 April
- Daylight Saving Time will last until 25 October 2009
The Embassy of Mexico to Belize informs the public that on Sunday, 5 April, Mexico begins Daylight Saving Time or Summer Time (Horario de Verano). On that day at 2:00 a.m. clocks go forward one hour to 3:00 a.m. That means that Mexico’s local time will run 1 hour ahead of Belize’s local time until 25 October 2009.
For example, on Sunday 5 April, 9:00 am in Belize local time will be 10:00 am in Mexico local time.
For those travelling within Mexico, the Embassy suggests you move your clock one hour ahead before going to sleep in the evening on Saturday, 4 April. That would ensure that you will keep with local time while you are in Mexico.
If you are in transit through Mexico, please check your flight’s local time.
