I was told by a friend that people sometimes barter with t-shirts from the US. He said that people were interested in his Houston Astros and Texas Longhorns shirts. I didn't really believe him. Is this something anyone else has experience with? If so, I may bring some t-shirts down to use as bartering tools.

Great Idea TX, Just make sure you pay the duty on the shirts @ Customs when you arrive and I'm sure that everyone will be happy.

IMHO The best bartering tool I have come across is a US greenback!!
Now as gifts for exceptional service, the tee shirts are a nice touch.

Ah Papa, before we came down the last time Mr. Pug suggested bringing down a couple of bottles bourbon as tips for the boat captains. I bought some Ezera Brooks in plastic bottles, 5th's. Both captains were VERY pleased. I gave one when we went to Mexico Rocks and one when we went to Shark Ray. They also got greenbacks. One said his lemonaid was sure going to taste better that night. LOL

Al,
We pay duty each and every time we pass through customs, it stimulates the economy or someone frown
