I believe that's not a good thing. If temptation island represents the type of tourist you want then "Welcome to Belieze version of Cozumel.".

What's the worst thing is that the locals, who seem to be mostly receptive with the tourists, will all hate tourists if the show has the wrong impact (and how can it not?).

I think people are just curious about the island, i doubt any direct correlation will be made between the inane 'script' and either San Pedro or the type of folks who come visit.....

Hey! You know what they say, " Any press is good press". The vidiography of the Island is excellent. Truely shows the beauty that we all take for granted around here. I'm sure that many people that never have heard of San Pedro now have their interest piqued. It can only help us to bring more tourists in a time of need. I'll take it even if the show itself is as stupid as a post.

It will help the tourism economy no doubt. That is a good thing! It's not going to become Cozumel just like that, the people of San Pedro and Ambergris Caye have the option of dealing with this impending boon in a positive manner. Just get rid of the cars and trucks! There is always room for tourists and their spending while they are enjoying the island and the beautiful water! We will be down for our vacation in March, can't wait.

I like the idea of getting rid of cars and trucks...at least limiting them severely. Golf carts work great, and don't smell bad either!

Well I was checking on airfare and cannot find an inexpensive flight. All my usual places seem to have dried up or the price has more than doubled. I will not pay Continental Airlines $976 to go from LAX to BZE. I just will not go. If this is one of the ramifications of that show I hope they cancel it.

HUNTER....

Airfare did not just go up since the show.
It has always been a little pricey due the the high landing fees at Belize International Airport.

If you search around...you can find decent airfare thru the links provided on this message board or airfare consolidators.
(See Marty's post above)

I've got a lady coming first week of June that found airfare from LAX for $450 RT. thru a consolidator.

If you really want to voice an opinion that might accomplish something.....write a letter to the Belize govt. about the high landing fees. Send a copy also to the Belize Tourism Board.

Maybe if everybody started doing that....they may start realizing how much impact this airfare issue has on our tourism.

Be sure and quote details when you write...ie: prices, dates, airlines, etc.

Thanks! [Linked Image]
