We will be visiting Belize for the first time Jan.28th. Were they affected by the earthquake in El Salvador 01/14/01? Also, is the water (and ice cubes in drinks) safe to drink-or is it a all beer week??

No earthquake problems here in Belize.
The fresh water here on Ambergis Caye is safe but bottled water tastes better. But if you need an excuse to enjoy the beer you can pretend that the water is dangerous. Remember what W.C.Fields said about that!
