Ambergris Caye, 8:25 am - power outage - whole island - have contacted BEL who says it's the whole island and they think it won't take too long to fix.

You are both being reported to SAGA. Not funny.

Back to electricity - just reminder - if you've been thinking of getting a generator the time to order one is now, not after June 1.

June 2 is right around the corner. Beware the Ides of June 2.

I hope that someday we can put aside our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.

Thanks JZB.
For further clarification - what happens is that sometimes a hurricane hits the US early in the season --- and after that you have a devil of a time finding a generator in Belize - at all, for the duration of the season.
After Katrina it was about 18 months before you could buy a good sized one here.
After experiencing 6 weeks without power post-Keith, and what seems like weekly outages on a routine basis still, I can only say that having a generator is a really cool thing.
