from the Chamber of Commerce.....

Fedex is looking into creating a US based mailbox drop-off for online shoppers from Belize. This could alleviate the problem of requiring international shipping as many online vendors will only ship to the continental US.

Hi Mr. Vidrine,

My name is Sheldon Duncan, Sales Manager of BTALCO (www.btalco.com). BTALCO is the parent company of FedEx(www.fedex.com) and OneBin.com (www.aeropost.com) , just to name a few. I would like to meet with you to discuss a few ideas about Aeropost/OneBin.com. Aeropost/OneBin.com is giving a Belizeans the opportunity of having a US based address for shopping purposes. Simply, you shop online, ship to the US address and it is sent to Belize. At the moment I am trying to locate a perfect location to install a bank of mailboxes so our San Pedro customers can have easier access and faster delivery of their packages. Also I would like to discuss the possibility of a joint promo with the AC Chamber. I am available at your earliest convenience.

Thank you,

Sheldon R. Duncan

Wouldn't it be logical for this to happen through Tropic Cargo as they are the local distribution partner for BTALCO/Fedex already?

I do like the freight forwarding idea too - but as many of us know, Hyde has been doing freight consolidation/forwarding services for years.

All of this still doesn't alleviate the need for a customs declaration (typically using a broker). If Mr. Duncan has some pixie dust for THAT mess, then sign me up...

Ok. That is quite a bit different than being the parent company of FedEx... But at least there is some official association there.

I used BTALCO Logistics Limited for 3 years when it was called One Bin, only had one small problem in that time.
