Be there Friday, can't wait. Someone told we can bring frozen chicken to save money but can we get through customs? How cheap is it to buy there?

Chicken is very inexpensive here. Don't bother with the hassle of customs and trying to keep chicken at a proper temperature.

Food is expensive if you choose to eat products that have to be imported. For simple things like chicken and certain vegetables that are raised here, it is not too bad. Also check out the tortilla factory. Fresh tortillas by the pound and very inexpensive

If you are going to bring anything bring dry goods and nonperishables. We bring cereal, splenda, tea, coffee (until I found caye coffee) dry creamer, snacky stuff (trail mix, crackers etc...) that kind of stuff. IMO it probably isn't going to be worth the effort to bring frozen stuff although awhile back someone did post they brought a suitcase full of Stouffer's frozen dinners.

You're kidding right? The chicken here is some of the best I've ever had.

Did they also smuggle some Natural Light to wash them down with? Yuck!

in March, for the first time, we brought down 2 frozen steaks (packed with one of those flexible ice packs)- but as a treat to our Belizean friends who don't get it often.

for what it's worth, we left the house at 3AM EST, and the steaks were still frozen on arrival in SP.

otherwise, just what colomojo said - snacks, dry goods & coffee (note: you can't always GET caye coffee anymore), etc.
