yimmj, I'm sure you are packed by now, so don't sweat it. Go on down and you will enjoy, or money back! laugh
Food is great and don't miss the street vendors. Some of the best grilled chicken I have ever had: 1st vendon on the south street side.

Sweetjane - Caye Coffee not always available? Good to know, I was actually going to forego bringing coffee this time but will rethink that - I can't get going without it as well as there is nothing like watching sunrise over the water with a great cup of joe and my love. (no joe is not my love ;))

AzBob - first vendor on South side of street? Are you talking about down by celi's or by the park?

I can't wait to try one of Waraguma's famous lobster burritos!

I pay about $12BZD per whole chicken from Lino's in town. We love the chicken here and Maya has been out to visit the chicken farms and photographed them. They are clean, well run and not at all like the intensive battery chicken production farms you see in North America and Europe.

Unfortunately you won't be able to get a lobster burrito (out of season) but her shrimp burrito is almost as good!

mojo: we always bring coffee, just in case. like you, it is a MUST for us, esp as i get up at 5 there and no one else is brewing then.

in march there were only a very few bags of caye coffee on the shelves and the dates were old.

once last year we went to their shop and got 10 pounds fresh out of the roaster, 3 times we went it was closed but the stores had some, and a different trip they had none at all.

funniest part is: if you ask 5 people on the island why, you will get 5 different stories. laugh

Caye Coffee is closed hence the difficulty in buying their coffee products. Premium Wines and Spirits has fresh ground.

Don't bring chicken. We bought this at Quality Poultry in Boca del Rio for $7BZ. It wasn't labeled so I'm only guessing that it weighed about 4.5 pounds because it provided us with enough meat for 2 dinners for 2 and a lunch for 2.

WOW Hon! That just about looks like a turkey! Maybe it is just the pic but it looks bigger than 4.5 lbs, still that's a good price for 3 meals. Actually that is a REALLY good price, US $3.50!

33 days to the time (providing no delays) we will be there! YYIIPPPEEEEEEEE!!

Look for the packages that says "dis da fi wi chikin". It's VERY fresh and taste fabulous especially grilled. I love the feet - not to eat but to put an element of surprise into someones plate hehehehe. We bring some back with us!

Time flys - have fun!
