and just before 9:00 all hell broke loose with a lightning storm directly over Reef Village. Big smokey winds with very little rain and I never heard any thunder.

Always gloomy on the south end.

seriously though this was yesterday guys. Rained last night all over the island. filled everyones water tank and washed off weeks of dust build up.

It rained for hours at our house last night. Christine and I went out and watched the amazing lightning show from the pier and then when it started getting closer and breeze got stronger and colder we retreated to the house. Cal and I sat out and watched the lightening for about an hour while it blew 40 mph and the tropical downpour was upon us.

It was great!

The night before we had 1/2 inch of rain that knocked out the power in our area for hours.

Looks like last night was centered more over the South end of the island. The night before we had a bit of a sprinkle in the Boca del Rio area but when I visited a house 7 miles North they said they had heavy rains and thunder. Just goes to show how different the weather can be over the distance of a few miles.

Boca del Rio only had a couple of brownouts the night before...

There was a LOT of rain up Mata Grande way with that storm.
Our handy-pool-tile rain gauge registered over 2.5 inches.
My boat's auto bilge stopped being auto and the unsinkable boat became a great big bathtub.
Boat lifts sound better and better after sleepless nights bailing.
