Just a note that it is illegal to own or sell a native Belizean animal without a license.

I agree with Marty, I would like to adopt her only if she has a licence.
I would like to be driven around the island on my cart and without a drivers licence the monkey would be of no use to me.

Also if she has a Captains licence that would be a bonus. smile

Does she have any house cleaning skills?

You have to wonder how someone acquired a baby monkey. Almost all wildlife sold in Belize has been poached and poaching often involves the death of an animal parent. If a wild baby animal is orphaned, it should not be raised as a pet but handed over to the Forestry Department, as required by law, who can arrange for it to go to a rehabilitation centre. People who poach wildlife in Belize, whether monkies, birds, iguanas or any other animals are stealing the wildlife from the future of Belizean children.

Sounds like it is a bit too late in this case - they have treated the monkey as a pet and raised it around kids and pets.

Gotta make the best out of a bad situation. Wonder why they are trying to adopt it out.

Sadly Amanada, its socialisation with children and pets are likely to make it even more dangerous as it matures and it will be sad and traumatic when the monkey will have to live in isolation, as it won't be able to mix with other monkeys and its behaviour will make it unsuitable to keep in the house. Common practice in the USA is to have all of their teeth surgically removed so that they can be kept as pets.

Here is some useful information for anyone considering getting a pet monkey.

Oh they look cute and are quite like human babies when small, but they are wild animals and as they become sexually mature, they do become dangerous, especially when raised as a baby.
