from the Chamber of Commerce....

The Blue Tang’s efforts to minimize the impact of the taxis servicing the water taxi that lands on Wet Willy’s dock on their hotel has resulted in the town replacing the posts that limit access to the beach road to vehicles larger than a golf cart. Although an improvement, there are still issues as the taxis can block the road leading to the beach, especially when a boat is scheduled to arrive. The taxis can still access the beach road from the road by Boca del Rio Park.

It was mentioned that the best solution is to work with the Town Council to get a public pier at which all the water taxis will land. This seems to be the only way to curb traffic on the Boca del Rio beach road and alleviate the problem of taxis parking and congesting the side road by The Blue Tang.

Isn't that wonderful! Now all the taxi's drive the beach between the High School and Wet Willy's. Exactly where loads of families with their kids come to play on the beach every day. School is out soon and the neighborhood kids will be out in full force at the beach all day long as well. An accident waiting to happen.

Feet on beaches, rubber on roads. Its that simple.
