I see BT (sadly not BTL) are now offering 20Mbps for around Bz$50/month. AND VoIP is not restricted.

Mr Ashcroft.....?

Peter,
A while back there was a discussion on VPN software to counter BTL shutdown of VOIP connection, specifically Skype. I started using HotSpot Shield with great results. This morning, after returning from several trips, I attempted to fire it up for a morning conference call and was unable to connect. Do you know if something's changed and are there alternative VPN software programs?

Hotspot is blocked. Sent you a PM. Let's try and keep the solutions of this board, no use in giving BTL any ammunition.

Although this topic wasn't about the current deficiencies in BTL's internet, have other people been getting poor service for the past few days? I can get most pages to load, but often only on the 3rd, 4th or even 5th attempt. Very tiresome.

Hi - This is the thread I found when I did a search for information on wireless/internet service. Can anyone tell me the best way to go about getting wi-fi to my house (tres cocos). Who should I contact. Are there any tricks of the trade/island on this topic. Do you have to have a land line. etc. Just trying to figure out how to get started.
Thanks in advance for your help.

You can get BTL Internet in Tres Cocos. You want a land line not wireless (expensive and slow). If you want wireless around the house then you can add a wireless router of your own.

Like Simon says (heh) - go into BTL and order ADSL service for your home. It will require a copper land line to be installed as well because the it uses the same media. The cheapest option, with the phone line, is about $150BZ/mo. Add a wireless router (Linksys et al) if you want to distribute wirelessly.
