Hey Everyone,

Are there a lot of Day Spa's in Belize catering to tourists and residents? If so, which cities do you usually see them in?

I read about a hair salon cum spa in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye on a blog not long ago. I doubt there are a lot of those. As elsewhere, businesses with low capital investment are often quite risky for individuals. You didn't ask, but I would add: Belize is not without persons with unlimited resources, but because most folks would rarely indulge in pampering themselves, such outfits have very limited growth potential. Hotels and resorts arrange for beauticians to come to the customer.

As far as I am aware there are tons of spas in Belize. I don't go to spas, so my recommendations are pointless, but this is a good place to start //ambergriscaye.com/spas/index.html for information.

I know that most of the towns on the mainland have more than one day spa and many mainland resorts have spas, some are quite fabulous.

I obviously don't know what I was talking about. I've seen dozens of mineral spring spas in central america, and though some are fancy, most are some sort of bath for which a fee is charged by someone leasing the spring. It has been pointed out that the yellow pages here are full of "spas" most billed as "day-spas". I think they are mostly beauty salons that also do zits, toenails and "aromatherapy". I can get a massage on the beach (no seedy massage parlors) and better-half has a choice of fabulous "spas".
