I am thinking of coming down in September, not sure where to stay, looking for somewhere cheap but safe, any ideas for a single girl looking for a vacation in the sunshine?

what's your price range? to some 'cheap' is $30 a night, and to some 'cheap' is $100 a nite.

When I came here the first time alone I stayed at SpinDrift. Easy walking to everything, and I got a room for under 100usd a night. I have since booked friends in there for 50usd a night during slow times.

We've stayed at Ruby's a couple of times. We got an ocean view room for only $50.00 a couple of weeks ago. It's clean and centrally located.

i'm a solo single female traveler....i have been staying at ruby's for many years...no frills, but clean and safe...walking distance to everything...staff is wonderful...i don't spend alot of time in my room, so it is perfect for me...twin bed, fan and private bath for $25.00 us per nite, and that includes tax

Depends on what you are looking for (amenieites, nightlife, active or quiet, etc). But I put a lot of my single female clients at the San Pedro Holiday Hotel. On the beach in town, well run, comfortable. Request an upper floor. It is located in the same area as the other 2 listed above (which are also good if you want to be in town and close to shops, restaurants, nightlife.)

I recommend The Mayan Princess. Clean, safe, midrange in price. Very nice.
