Hey, we'll be there tommorow anyway. It appears we'll surely find someone alive on the island to speak with?

Yikes, thanks Jane, I think. At those prices, everything becomes a luxury.

Hey, good on you, mate. Few posters who want info prior to coming ever post while here, and many never post their experiences after they leave. Well done.

I notice that the price list of items contains almost all name-brand (American) items. Of course they'll be more expensive. I would like to see a comparison chart with prices of the similar items made in Belize or Mexico. I realize for some things there are no substitutes.
We spend most of our time of the mainland, but I have shopped on AC and notice that things are more expensive there in general, I guess because it;s an island.
We have a grocery truck that runs up and down the peninsula (Placencia) twice a week, stopping at your house if you want and his prices are really pretty reasonable. To me anyways.

As a close to the thread, our trip was AWESOME. Great time, great weather, great diving, great food, great people. We will certainly return. Thanks to Ched and Clodia at Reef Adventures for seeingn the most amazing things underwater. Thanks to Paradise Villas, especially Angel for hooking us up. Also a big thanks to straight shooting Tim and Tina for the island tour.

Theona made a great Mojito at "Mojitos", some great food everywhere we went, but suprisingly good at Fido's. Wild Mango and Sunset Grill. Our favorites though, were Priate Pizza, Estellas(sp?) deli by the roundabout and the roadside chicken vendors.....

When someone can figure out how to lose the Belikin after taste, I'll stop drinking rum punch and fruity drinks.....

I'll keep an eye on the forums, y'all are great!!!!!
