The New Water Taxi Service started running early this morning.
I was Robinson Crusoe up here and doing business in town was difficult at best but the water taxi services have made many things possible that seemed impossible before, like having a job in town and living in the North, or kids in school and living on the remote part of the island from the school.
and lets not forget grocery shopping... Its a new world for this part of the island because of these Water Taxi services.

Do they have a website with cost, scheduled stops, times, etc. Elbert?

Does Island Ferry still have their weekly pass; if so anyone know the cost and where I can buy one?

I am not sure if they have a website as yet, but attached is a copy of the schedule/price list and it has their phone and email details. They also have weekly and monthly passes, rover tickets and school passes.

Their office is on the Amigos del Mar dock in town.

One price list for visitors, another for locals. Interesting.

I'm not surprised at the 2 prices, just that they would openly advertise it.

Moose, I was a little surprised that they openly advertised it also. My question is, what constitutes a local and how do you prove it? Is it QRS, Resident living there 6 months a year, Resident full time, born on AC, friend of boat operator? Of course I think I already know the answer.

Although my place is up North I don't intend to use the Water Taxi often so...what ever. It doesn't quite sit right though, does it? I know the answer to that also, get over it.

How about:
1. If you speak kriol
2. Have a Belize Driving License
3. Are known by the water taxi staff
