We have been trying to book flights to Belize to visit the Cayes this month and have been surprised to find them not only higher than when we have usually travelled in the past (we've been down through the winter, March and June) but they have even gone up in price since we've been watching them. I would have thought they'd drop, not go up. Is this normal for August or is this an indication that there won't be any decent flights this winter as there have been in the past? Also, the only ones left now are +1 day which we would not want to do. perhaps that's because there are fewer flights in August?

Just wondering, since we generally come down at least twice a year, are we ever going to be able to find reasonable flights again!

Have you noticed the AA sale post? A $250 price drop for me, and almost inline with last August.

Krehfish, thanks for the head's up, for us further north the prices with AA have gone up quite a bit, and in fact they now include overnight stop-overs adding on one more day each way which makes getting there two days longer and who wants to factor in two nights of hotels near an airport...but thanks for the head's up. We never had to wait for sales before, the regular rates were always around or below $600 including tax so we came back and forth fairly often each year. And at times they dropped much lower. But the regular rates were always a third less than they are now without overnight stop overs. We're really missing Caye Caulker and we and some of our friends wanted to book something for this month and/or December but I guess it's not to be for now.
