Whatever happened to the golf course on Caye Chapel? Did Keith run it over? Is the water barge still running from San Pedro?

Can we play there next week??

Hi,
I'm pretty sure it's fine. We went to AC from Belize City three days after Keith by water taxi. Soooo much debris in the water on the way there, (before we hit Caulker) overturned boats floating around, many coconuts, limbs of trees, much wood, etc... VERY WEIRD FEELING! Oh man....
We lost a motor... thank got they had two!
Anyway, on the way back to Belize City we took a different way and passed Caye Chapel. It definetly, looked like a golf course. Did not see any debris around. If there was much damage, I'm sure all is well by this time!
That man has some bucks!
Have a great time!!!
Sincerely,
Hope

P.S. I hear the barge is still hanging around...

re the golf course. We flew over it on Tropic this week and it looks fine, very flat and green.

I'd be interested in knowing more about Caye Chapel. Is there a hotel there? Could we drop in for a round of golf while at AC or is it restricted to hotel guests? What are the fees and how do we get there? Any info apreciated. Bill

Bill,

Check our Web edition for a full report on Caye Chapel. It's in a downloadable pdf file -- free.

The only error I know about in the article is that we failed to note that the actual designer of the course was Patrick Horvat of Tee Time International, and Addington only supervised the design.

Thanks Lan, Sounds like a nice little day trip from AC for the beached golf fanatics. Is there a scheduled boat or are we talking a one off charter. Bill

Friends of ours took water taxi from AC to Caye Chapel for Golf and described their day on the links as "religious."

Raves upon raves. About $US100 to play. They made arrangements through the resort they were staying, Banana Beach, I believe.
