Hello all,

First, wish I were on the Island having a slider at Lime's or a bullseye at DandE's, but that's a whole 'nother topic grin .

Long time lurker, and Belize visitor. So here's the issue; my daughter is a senior in high school and would like to have a senior year project involving the youth of Belize. She would like to raise funds or collect school supplies to help the students on either Ambergris or Caulker.

The questions are bountiful. Such as, what type of supply is in short supply? How much is needed? Customs required for supplies to students?

So, if anyone has a contact or special cause please let me know so that I can relay this to her. She is quite anxious to begin.

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

Enjoy your days.

We always donate to the San Pedro Town Library. It helps out ALL of the school kids on the island.

They can use everything from Pencils to calculators.

All of the schools can use supplies. I have put together drives for suplies by filling out post cards with the name of supply needed and a quantity. The members of my church would pick up the cards, fill the item on the card and then return it to me. If you collect pencil pouches they can be filled with assorted items. I know students at both La Isla Bonita Elementary School need supplies and also the New Anglican School just across the bridge on the left has a need for all sorts of things.
Transpoting is another story and yes you can get caught up with customs wanting to charge you a fee. I try to take them down myself and ask others in my area to take some as well so that there is not a lot in any one suitcase.
You can e-mail me at [email protected] for more info.
