Currently, the "Thunderbolt" water taxi operates only one run each way per day: departs Corozal 7 a.m. and departs San Pedro at 3 p.m.

The fare is BZ$45.00 (US$22.50) one way and BZ$85.00 (US$42.50) round trip.

and it is two hour ride in an enclosed boat. Tropic Air flies from Corazal to San Pedro in 17 minutes and costs $2.50 more. Go figure!

Actually Tropic is $50BZ more one way, I just checked their site.

Tropic one way to Corozal is US$47.50 - so its almost double.

Also I may be wrong but your bus prices from Playa seemed high so perhaps you made the same USS Bz$ mistake?
