Just reading about Keith. Is there any lasting damage to ths islands because of it?

Also as per my earlier message, we were wondering where to stay, or if there were any places we shouldn't stay because of the Hurricane damage, or any other reasons.

Any damage from Keith that is still obvious will be in the residential areas and on the back side of the island. All the hotels and resorts are back to 100% The most obvious indication of a recent hurricane, would be the lack or or reduction in trees. Many were blown down. If you've never been to Ambergris before, though, you wouldn't know it. You would have nothing to compare it to. But the entire island is busy replanting. As far as help with accomodations, it's helpful if we know what you want out of your vacation and any preferences, desires or "musts" that you have. Yes, there is lasting damage to the flora on the island. Most people would agree that by now, ALL resorts are up and running at full strength, with only a few exceptions[Journey's End?] There may be some refurbishing going on that would impinge on solitude. But that is the price of doing business.
