We are part-timers from the States and are considering the purchase of a new or used Club Cart. Any advice on this subject as far as price, red tape involved, person to contact, etc.?
Thanks!

You probably will not get permission but you will likely get lots of offers to help for money. I had a complete nightmare this year in this regard and I am officially a resident. I don't believe they will even consider a non-resident for a permit. Never hurts to try though. Good Luck!

It truly does not hurt to try but I agree with Martin Smith. The chances of a non resident getting a permit is waaaay slim. I am a "sorta resident" prior to the new regs and had a very hard time.

Thanks for your reply, Martin, guess I'll have to keep renting or get a bike!

An alternative for Sandy - you can make an arrangement with Polo's Carts for some kind of longer-term lease that is (I think) based on a total number of days of use. So for instance you sign up say for 60 days, but use these days when you are here only - and maybe it takes a year or so to use them up.
Check with him for details ----- this can work out to your financial benefit because you don't have to find a place to store it, don't have to maintain it and when it breaks you get a fresh replacement without waiting around for a mechanic.

We go with cholo's. The last few years we have stayed for 3 months and they charge $600.00 US a month. I hope it is the same in 2010.
