Hello All.
I have a question about sailing. I grew up sailing and love to sail. When in AC last year we went on a day sail through Hustler Tours. It was on a catamaran, and we stopped several times to snorkel, went to Caye Caulker etc. It was VERY nice and we had a wonderful time, but we didn't REALLY "sail". Are there any SAIL BOATS to charter in AC where you sail most of the day? Not a catamaran or party boat. A real sail boat that would go out into the deeper waters???? Where we could assist with the sails, sheets, cleets and tiller?

Debbie, I'm anxious to hear replies to your question. I too love to sail (although a novice) and there's nothing worse than being on a lovely sailboat only to motor about.

Gela and Debbie, I bet if you went over to the boatyard you could talk to any one of the sailboat captains and make an offer and they'd make a deal with you. Never hurts to try.

Becky,
I thought that the boatyard was no more after Keith. Is it back in operation again? I had heard they were working on it, but didn't realize it was operational. It got slammed pretty hard. I didn't go there my first trip, but also heard they had a wonderful palapa bar there that was pretty popular. Any current info? It sounds like a good idea.

Debbie, you might be right. I didn't think of that. I do know that $$ talks and if you ask around I'm sure you can get someone to take you out sailing for a price. Let me know who you find when you do. When are you going?

Becky,
June 9th - 19th. I've got a little time to hunt. I've searched the net, and found lots of sailboats, but they're all live aboards. Not just for a day sail. They have weekly rates. I would LOVE to do that, but not this time. One night would be okay, but I already have a room etc. Maybe the boatyard will be functional by June??????
