I just spotted two lion fish in Bachelor Chico National Park. I have tried to get a hold of Hol Chan, but they are not answering the phone. Anyone have an alternate contact for them? Have them contact Sueno Del Mar, they can get in contact with me I have the locations marked, and they seem to be haning around in the area.

Unfortunately there are a lot of Lion Fish in the Marine Reserve. You are better off telling the Turtleman or his son Daniel where the fish are as they catch lion fish quite often!

Ditchdocdiver, I'm pretty sure the funds for the dead or alive program are gone and what we've been doing is killing them and leaving them for fishfood.
Its amazing how we went from never seeing one to seeing them on almost every dive , its obviously very true that they invade and populate fast. Everyday someone contacts me with a sighting or a capture wanting to know what to do. Kill it!
KILL KILL KILL ......its ok im back in control now.

I'll get in touch with Greg and Daniel. I have returned 4 times and have seen them there each time. I just snap[ped a picture (poor quality, as I was shooting blind in a hole) I'll post in the photo section.

I did get a hold of Hol Chan, no bounty, but they said kill them all!

Alright Elbert, step up to the plate and start a fishing tournament for lionfish. Both above water and below.

You are missing the point, it's an eradication contest. Most pounds of lionfish wins.

We caught one under our dock. Neutralized the poison in it's barbs, cleaned it and made it into a taco... tasty. Thus the beginning of our lion fish taco empire.

Rojo Lion Fish Tacos "Saving the reef one taco at a time." T-shirts coming soon.

Elbert: If you catch ones large enough to fillet, bring them to us.

Um . . so, how do you catch one of these things when you are diving?
