has anyone tried one of these virtual po box companies. For example id do a mail forwarding to the po box they give me. and id pay $XX.XX a month to be able to look at my physical mail online. They would open/scan the ones i request scanned, shred the ones i request shredded, and forward the ones i wish forwarded to anywhere in the world.

Example website

There are a lot of these out there. I just wondered if anyone has tried one of these from belize? and they are/nt happy with it.

Thanks!

the benefit would be for expats or travelers. So they could still have people send mail to a US address. But see the mail easily online. thats what you pay for is them housing our mail/scanning your mail.

I personally wouldn't trust anyone to open up and go through my mail. (Not that I ever receive anything important). I think you might be better off going through a UPS store or similar. You can tell them what kind of mail you want forwarded, what to trash, and how often you want the mail forwarded.

I don't want strangers opening my mail . . .geez, what an opportunity for amongst other abuses, identity theft.

i would definitely NOT want strangers going through my mail. But actually, I mostly get junk mail anymore, so maybe I wouldn't care. all my bills come online, and I communicate via email and Facebook, so I guess I dont really need regular mail

AC - that's a cool idea. I've never heard of it but may look into it (I'm in Europe but with a US mailbox forwarding system).

In terms of identity theft - you shouldn' probably have sensitive stuff sent via snail mail anymore anyways. For me, nothing major comes through this way anymore.

I think most of you are putting too much emphasis on fraud/privacy. If someone wants your data I would worry more about online fraud, trash pickers, random unhappy employee at a random restaurant. etc. These people (companies) that I linked make thier business by serving people's private data to them. They wouldn't stay in business long if they were screwing people over left and right. That being said I will be doing serious research before I choose which one to use smile.

Must find positive reviews of services like this before deciding.
