We are coming to ac. in march. please help me decide where to stay. I want these things in order. 1. Best beach on island, because all I want to do is lay on beach. 2. best view of ocean on island. because all I want to do is lay on beach and look at the ocean. 3. best price of motel on island, so I can spend my money on food and drink. 4. most secluded place on island, I keep seeing so many pictures of motels, I am confused if I should stay south or north for all of these requests..Your opinions are greatly appreciated.. Thanks Oregon Duck Fan.

Banana Beach - best beach on the island (my opinion). Decent rate but good when you factor in the kitchen and other amenities. Good seclusion w/o feeling isolated. We stayed in January and due to it's location on the southern end of the island it was very quiet until the college kids from TX came.

We just came back from 11 days at Sun Diver Resort. While the beach is not large, neither is the resort. It is clean and has a very intimate, private feel to the whole place. It is at the end of the island - past Journey's End but before Mata Chica. There are only 12 units and it is quiet and secluded and wonderfuly peaceful. There is only a small dock and there is not a lot of water taxi or ferry traffic at all to disturb you or your view. There is also a nice pool area and a small bar for drinks. Rooms are really nice and extremely clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. It has a totally different feel from the larger, more populated and commercial resorts closer in to San Pedro. The only thing is the restaurant is fair and we mostly went elsewhere to eat but that IS part of the fun. Was very quiet at night - you can go elsewhere for fun and come home and get a good rest. We enjoyed our stay there alot. Hope this helps

USA girl. Thanks for the post. I am glad to hear you had a good experience at Sun Diver, as that is the resort my fiance and I are looking seriously at staying. I was wondering which unit you stayed in, and if you would still recommend that one, or a different one. Any information or suggestions you have I would love to have. Thanks, Erika
