My wife and I are coming to AC March 31 for our anniversary to recharge and to do some diving. What is the current water temperature and should we bring our wetsuits?

From what I've been told many who go don't wear one...I'm planning on doing 2-3 dives a day and WILL bring mine. Don't know about you but if the water is 72 at the Blue Hole thats gonna chill me. I'm so use to diveing with my suit I'd feel strange without it. I use a 3mm shorty for islands like AC and a 5mm for some of the other climates. I'm one of those better safe than sorry kind of divers tho. If ya plan on snorkeling mostly you might just want to rent one there for the days you plan on diveing alot. My info comes from a local diver here in Va who has extensive time in the Belize area. He suggested I bring mine. Mark...27 days and counting....

Thanks you two. Staci gets cold if the temperature drops below 90. I'm a little more thick skinned but just to be safe we'll bring our shorties. 9 days and counting....

Our computers registered water temp at the blue hole @ 79 last week at 120 feet +. Temp around the reefs stayed around 80 to 82, depth 30-80 feet, every time we went diving. I am cold natured and was very comfortable in a 3mm, even for 30-45 minute dives.

my 1 mm was great in the hole (165'+), a skin is best most of the time, polartec if you tend to get chilly.
alot of the dives on the outer cayes (if you want the best diving)are at 70-80 ft refer to your comfort level at 79-81 degrees (F)
have fun......

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for your help. I've been a silent spectator of this site for several months and it's been a wealth of information. 8 days and counting....M

i am giving my husband's opinion here. he chose not to do the blue hole, as it is a long ride for 8 minutes bottom time. he instead dove turneffee atoll, and it was his best dives ever. 2 dives, i think 45 ft, both with multiple dolphins. he said you hear "click click" and turn around and there they are. they dont touch you but swim all around you. then they followed the boat back. he said it was the dive of a lifetime.

Thanks Jane
We had already decided against Blue Hole because a lot of the people we know that have been there say it's over rated. We also don't want to spend all of that time on a boat going to and fro. Our main objective is to get in some diving, drinking, relaxing and...ahem...I had better stop there. M
