Approaching the final countdown for our arrival April 1st! Leave it to me to begin a trip on April Fool's Day! Just a couple of last minute questions!

The girls and I have decided that we want to get there ASAP! So we have decided to fly over. I've done some research on Tripic Air and Maya Island. Is there another place I should check? Possibly a little cheaper? Any recommendations will be appreciated!

Another problem we are having is we aren't sure which flight we will be on. We are flying standby! Do flight reservations book up fast? I talked to Tropic Air a month ago and they told me to call at least a week ahead for reservations. But if you know about flying standby you never know for sure arrival times.

Need I also add that Daylight Savings Time begins April 1 also! I doubt it will be any need to go to sleep Saturday Night!

I am rambling, but I will be up for DUKE'S championship game MONDAY NIGHT, tell me where and I will be there!

Thought of something else.... First time I have had to travel with a passport. Do they check you coming in and out?

Went to St. John last year and they inspected everything, took forever!

Tropic and Maya are your only AC air choices.
You must show your passport with Airline tickets going both ways. Custom checks entering each country. Security checks baggage at airport BC when leaving on flight. We have gotten on Tropic flights to AC with no reservations many times over the years. You could tell them what day you plan to arrive, even if you don't know the time.
We went to St. John's last year as well, their (St. Thomas USVI) custom check is a little different, since they are still U.S. not a foreign country.
We will be in San Pedro for April Fool's Day also! Belize it!

We flew Tropic Air last September. We had reservations for our flight, but I think that they are pretty accomodating(see previous posts). I don't remember any hassle with customs, either going or coming. No inspection of our luggage either way. However, we did have a long line in Houston waiting to go through customs. And, although our state team (Kentucky-deserved to loose last night, played horribly!) is out, I think your team will win! But, watch out in the next couple of years, because Rick Pitino is back in Kentucky, now coaching our home town team, Louisville! Have a great time in Belize!

we did not get searched either. but they always check your passport.

the flights are like round trip taxis that fly all day long, back & forth. the pilots are pro's too. if you miss a fight, just wait around, another is bound to come soon. kick back, and don't worry, just grab a drink at jet's bar! belize that!
