Family on our way to AC in 22 days and counting!! Getting great info from this board. My question(s) are.. Is it safe to kayak on your own? Lagoon side? Staying at Banyon Bay, can you kayak to Mexico Rocks on your own, how far is it. Can you tie-up and snorkel?? Kids-15 & 17.
Final ??'s.. Ambergris Tours offers different day snorkel trips, how would you rate Robles Point, Mexico Rocks or Caye Caulker for snorkeling?? Thanks.

Yeah of course it is ok to kayak by yourselfs as long as you dont go to far out snorkling in them places are really good you see lots of really fantastic fishes and rays and the reef is full of wonders really good i really recommend swimming in then places i go every year!

Mexico Rocks is one of my favorite snorkel spots. Mexico Rocks is about 7 miles north of San Pedro. Did you look at the maps on this site? There are some nice ones.
Don't know about snorkeling at CC, but plenty of snorkel spots on the way to CC from AC and back.
We prefer to have a power boat while snorkeling the reef in case of any accidents or medical emergencies (there is no coast guard type rescue available).
