Four former college roommates, now 40+, are planning a mini-reunion in AC, w/o husbands and children, for next February. We would prefer a suite of two rooms, refrigerator, pool, restaurant (less important), not too far from town, not overly rowdy. I read about the Palms and Paradise Villa's on this board and they both seem nice, although w/o restaurants. Is there any place else I should look into? Thanks!

staying at paradise villas 4/4 will give a report when we get home on 4/10. it looks like there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of paradise villas.

Banyan Bay would fit the bill, although it is upper mid-range of the price scale. Not sure if paradise has any two room suites..if so it would be perfect.

I agree that Banyan Bay would also be nice (along with The Palms), both of which have two-bedroom units. But Banana Beach might be able to provide two units (both one-bedroom) for close to the same price as one unit at Banyan Bay. Mayan Princess is less luxe, but a delightful place and often at a good price, in the middle of town -- again, one-bedroom units. Belizean Reef Suites at the south end of town near The Palms ditto.

We are thinking about Paradise Villas for this fall. Last September we stayed at the Seven Seas. Each room is equipped with combo of seating/dining/kitchen area with an air- conditioned bedroom. Also a queen sleeper couch in the living area.We rented two units. My husband and I stayed in one and my sister and my mom stayed in the one right next door. Both were on the first floor. Although each unit has plenty of space, we were glad that we rented two,as all of us being in one would have pushed it.They are very reasonable and close to town(see the map of town). A great little restaurant, Papi's Diner, is right around the corner, a very short walk. There is also a small grocery and bakery right by Papi's. We did rent a golf cart for the week, which didn't cost much when we split the cost. They also have a pool. All rooms are oceanfront with great porches in front of each unit(there are only twelve units).Whatever you decide, don't worry about the distance to restaurants. All are very close to most any hotel.Paradise Villas,is, I think, very close to almost everything. We will still rent a cart..some people don't want to and you really don't need one, but my Mom is 73, asthmatic, and my husband had a bad hip(just had a hip replacement 3 weeks ago), so it was wonderful for us. You will have a great time!
