Just wanted to say that Milio & Kirsten of Ak'bol are going a great job and deserve a pat on the back.

We eat there at least 3-4 days a week. Their food is consistently good, the staff friendly, and the prices are very hard to beat.

The yoga classes look popular, but I'm not that ambitious to get off of the stool yet.

Good job, you two.

Well said, Flip flop! We are fairly noobies here but have enjoyed a couple of days hanging out at Ak'Bol.

Fantastic food, great people, wonderful location!!!

Like yourself, we have not braved the yoga classes yet but hope to one day when we can get to the pier before the bar!!

Certainly one of the choice places I recommend peeps I meet to go and try hanging out for a day!

Yes, they happen to be our friends and neighbors, but we happen to think this is the best place for breakfast on the whole island.... I'm not a yoga person either, but it is a must-do experience (stretching out in the morning on the beautiful caribbean sea) and a perfect way to start a holiday on the island - positive energy all the way.

We absolutely force our visitors to do this and they are still talking about it 2 yrs later!

Can somebody please tell me where Ak'bol is located in distance, etc. from Palapa Bar? I drove up there in November to have breakfast, dodging all of the huge puddles on my golf cart, got stuck, then the golf cart would only go in reverse, then I finally got it started again. LOL. By that time, I turned around - never saw any signs. Would love to try it again soon....

Just a block or so North of Palapa Bar - the newer pier with the Palapa is where the yoga classes are usually held (unless the weather is bad)

LaurieMar,
You could have parked the cart near the Palapa Bar and walked north on the beach about 50 yards to the next pier with the HUGE palapa on it. That's Akbol

AC, You won't be dissapointed, Great prices too !!
