I know I am not supposed to bring one, but I can not get that far away from civilization...does anybody know if Captain Morgan's Villas have a hairdryer, or do I need to pack one?

You need to pack one! We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa upstairs with Palapa Roof and it was very comfortable but there was no Hair dryer.

If you're staying in a Casita you may need: hair dryer, trouble light, lighted makeup mirror, and curling iron - however, the Trade Winds may require BRAIDS or HATS!!!!

Munichchick When did you stay in the villa's? Could you tell me a little more? I did not know they were two story...the internet site makes them look like they are right on the beach, by themselves.

dedl....forget the hair dryer. Once it's dry it will only get wet again with the humidity. Ditto with make-up, etc. It's a vacation....go native!

We where there last September. They have two types of Villas. The 2 story 1 bedroom Villas are brand new and very nice. They are all on the left side of the pool as seen from pier. The cute 1 story Cabanas are all on the right side of the pool and are also very nice but a little less luxurios. Either one was nice but they tried to put us down stairs without Palapa Roof and we did not go for that. We picked the place because we "love" Palapa Roofs. And don't worry it is not that hard to look good with a sun tan, salty curly hair and a little make up at night. I had no problem at all. Most of the time my hair looked crazy and wild from the Beach and it was a cool look. I did not blow dry once. I have longer hair so I do fun little up do's as well. If you have a very stylish shorter cut that needs lots of attention I would let it grow a bit before the trip. It will not stay tame!

Dedl....ditto for ditching the hair dryer. As said, just air dry,put on a visor or ball cap and go! That way, you won't stand out in the crowd!

Thanks everybody for your comments. I have decided to get my hair braided before I go. I love getting in done in Mexico because it is so easy to care for. I am a little upset about the villas though. I just realized that the virtual images on the web site are UPSTAIRS!!! I thought they were like the casitas, only newer. Are all of the villas close to the water or are they build further back?
