San Pedro High School presents their first play this Saturday night, Fiddler on the Roof, from 5:00 to 7 PM. It is
free and there is a free reception during intermission. Everyone come out and support the arts

I hope there are many more productions in the future. Wish I could have been there for this one. So cool!

Didn't have the time to go there as I had to attend a small event on Saturday but spoke with some people who were there. First of all: It must have been really great! Compliments to the students! Great job.

I also heard that the structure of the musical was a little bit too complicated - next time maybe should be a little bit more simple? and of course a lot of the voices could not be heard as many students were too shy - it is very difficult and a big difference to play in front of hundreds of people.!

In summer camp I would like to do a musical and do it with play-back - just act and for the singing use the original music from CD and just move the lips. I'm not yet sure about the musical that would be best: Stuff like "Les Miserables" or "Miss Saigon" are too heavy and not ideal for students. Maybe "Grease"?

Again another beautiful day in paradise - just smile and be happy :-)

Grease or High School Musical. It's always great to have something that the audience can sing along with - it boosts the confidence of the performers. I know! Mama Mia. That would be excellent.

I was there and a big BRAVO to the students. The young lady who played Golde was wonderful - very good singing voice. For a first time ever attempt I thought they did good. Miss Cindi lead them in the singing and they had a shortage of microphones but they passed them around nicely. I understand that they did not have a long lead time so rehearsals were not abundant.

I think Dr.Floyd Jackson could have taken a back seat and let the students be the centerpiece.

I hope they do it again soon.

I vote for Grease! They even have a Spanish version, it might be fun for a director to merge the two together... and there is a great opportunity for some awesome choreography too. Le Miz is too depressing...I am so glad the show went well, how exciting!

In conjunction with the Free Music School, San Pedro High School students put on the first ever High School Musical "The Fiddler on the Roof". Students sang, acted and performed to the audience's delight.
The highlight of the play was the wedding scene, with a fabulous wedding dress designed by Marion. The audience got to enthusiastically join in the Hava Nagila dancing and singing as well!
