[Linked Image] Here a nice overview of the most strange and alien places on Earth.

Fun but there are a few missing like the Cave of Crystals in Mexico , the borough and ghost town of Centralia, Pennsylvania where an underground fire has been burning since 1962, the limestone towers in Madagascar and the Door to Hell in Uzbekistan.

When you have any other suggestions please post them below this post.

That place is on my bucket list.

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?

Pamukkale is very impressive; have never seen that one, thanks!
I have found a few more:

Pamukkele is definitely neat - add to the Turkey list the Goreme Valley. Not sure how to link you to any photos - but if you are in the area, GO see it!

A little closer to home --- Death Valley and the black lava flats in the Mojave near the crossroads cafe called Baghdad.

It was used for training for astronauts and equipment before the first lunar landing.

pretty neat, az. diane, i was wondering why i never heard of the place you mentioned, so i googled & see that we knew it only as Cappadocia, and yes its WAY interesting. we didn't make it there either (there is just too much stuff to see in turkey), but if we're ever lucky enough to return, its on the list.

Those places are cool, but not as cool as this one: http://tinyurl.com/coolest-place

Once you've been there, nothing else really matters...

I was going to get a life, but this was easier.
