Belikin has a deluxe version for which they charge the Gringos more. The regular is the same but in a different bottle; I think the premium/deluxe comes in a bigger bottle though. The Belikin Stout is a serious drinking beer that I highly recommend--like a black & tan, it has a blue cap to differentiatewhen you pull it out of the cooler.

not that it is possible, but compare the regular billikin to another beer...taste wise.

whats close? heiniken, becks, miller, schlitz, pbr (lol) ...what does it resemble

a good Colorado beer to compare it to would maybe be Avalanche , but not quite as hoppy. Maybe Sam Adams. about 6.2% alcohol by volume, regular is about 3.8%

Hard to compare Bilikin to anything I've ever had...but they go down smooth and fast! The bottle is weighted at the bottom,so you think you have more left than you actually do..then you find you need another...and then another! Brought 12 home..family loved them! Enjoy! Have one(or several!) for us!

Belikin Beer....
I didn't care much for regular belikin, I would reccomend drinking the supreme belikin. I didn't discover that until 10 days after I got there. So I drank lots of rum. They should import Corona to the Island.

BEER...it's about time somebody posted something worhtwhile on this board!!!! Coronas??? Give me a break...go down to your local establishment, or better yet, [#%!] in a glass and squeeze in some lime...
Going to Belize is about getting Belizean...not Mexican!! By the way the regular beer and the supreme are the same stuff! It's just that some snobby tourists are willing to pay more for a different bottle!

The old peg leg has polished off a keg or three in his day...I don't fool around when it comes to my favorite libation. But if you wanna pay more, go right ahead! Now if you like stout, I understand the Belikin stout will kick your a%#!!!

since we are on the libation topic, i have another question...dont get me wrong i love getting local, but if i visit west africa its not like i am going to get my nose pierced and eat raw lion.

Having said that, I am a bourbon man, Jim Beam and a splash of water if you will.

Is bourbon available on AC?

ROFLMAO @ the pirate!! You dirty ole pirate!!!! Too funny. Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! I like your name. I used to have dreams about my husband being a pirate. For real. So that's kind of been his nickname ever since. Past life recollections maybe???? LOL

Koz, yes you can get bourbon on AC, but I think it will be expensive. There are only two places I can think of that sell liqour. We brought our own liquor when we came. That way we were assured our favorite brand. Although, we fell in love with the Belikin and drank that most of the time. Yes, the stout will put lead in the pencil and blooms on the cheeks!!!! Belize it!

Pirate..agree with Debbie..take your own..Scott will next time d/t the expense of Bourbon on AC. For me, I am a Corona drinker at home only because they sell it here, but if I could buy Belikin at home..it would be my beer of choice!

Axeman, I saw your dive pics with the dolphins, and am very impressed! Also, a little jealous, I would love to swim with dolphins! Is there anywhere on AC that you can do this? I would rather do it naturally, than through a set-up deal, but I will take what I could get.

That dive took place in Cozamel...those 2 dolphin kept thinking I was the trainer and played with me more than anyone...There may be somewhere on AC..be there in 3 days and will let you know.
I was blissed out for the entire evening after that..they are BY FAR the most incredible mammals (other than Diann) that I have come across.
Diann...I am not a talker...trust me

Debbie,

How much alcohol can you bring in? I've heard different opinions....some say 1 bottle, some say 3....hoping it is three!?!

This sounds silly, but we were told two.... So with your above information, now I'm confused as to how much you can bring. I'm a spiced rum drinker my self, so we brought that and a bottle of stoli. Glad we did. Only coconut rum on the island. (Which is very good, just not my favorite) Anyone out there know for sure???
