I know this is a boring question but I was just wondering how easy it is to cash travelors cheques on AC & in the Cayo District? I can't wait only 4 more days until paradise.

They are accepted most anywhere. No need to change them all to Belize currency. On AC sometimes you will even get US currency back in change!!! It's all VERY easy. Just remember to save a couple for the exit fees out of the country on your departure!!! Also, bring a heavy duty zip loc bag to put them in. You'll no doubt be diving, snorkeling and swimming.... Don't want them to get wet!!!

Travellers checks work fine , however do not take them to the bank to exchange! They will charge you a conversion fee! Cash the at the local restaurants and bars.

No really...glad to hear this as I've been robbed in Cozemel....was holding cash...DOH!

chilidog..we only took cash..never had a problem with leaving it (albeit hidden)in our room..not real safe, probably, but we were fine!

We took cash and traveler checks and did not use one check. We used the credit card for diving and the hotels and cash for the rest.
