I gather from BEL that the entire country is operating without Mexican power, because there's been a hardware failure that so far they're unable to identify. The outages we're experiencing here are when our local generator hiccups.

Could be, but they were quite insistent that it was a technical problem. I would have thought running a local diesel generator is a lot more expensive than buying electricity "ready made".

We have covered this before. 15 years ago, a friend of mine was in Belize doing a study for just this purpose. His answer was not gonna happen. Don't know why. Plus I wonder how long the turbins last in a very corrosive atmosphere, let alone the lack of a very constant wind supply, like say Casper Wy.

Placencia's power went out just after sunrise and did not come on till 4 PM.

Yes, but it was a planned outage from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm so 6:45 am to 4:15 pm isn't that bad.

The water pump & internet started back up so no complaints...

except our Fortis shares were down 39 cents on the day.
