Hello. Coming to Ambergris for a week or so about august 16th, going to be in Belize for a month, Cayo, Placencia, Caulker... Should we book reservations to stay at Ruby's? Or anyone know of anywhere cheap and nice? Should we wing it? How many days do you suggest to stay in each place? Things not to miss? Been doing a lot of reading, just wanted to actually hear something from someone.

Shouldn't have any problems getting a place to stay in August, Jeff. I say reserve the first place you are going, and then wing it.

Ruby's is fine. Cheap and basic in town and right on the beach. You could try Coconuts Hotel ½ mile south of town if you want a bit more luxury for a little higher price.
