Would like to open a water taxie service using a 10 passenger hoover craft. This is only an idea and my wife, daughter and myself would be making a trip down to Belize to stay a while and do research as to what other services / business's would be helpful to the local economy and would be welcomed by the government.

Your thoughts will be appreciated.

Yes,a water craft that hoovers about 8inch's off the surface of the water or land and is propelled by large wind turbans. The ride is much better than a conventional boat with hule and doesn't require a dock. They are very cool.

A Hydrofoil or jet Foil would be more economic.

A hydrofoil is a wing-like structure mounted on struts below the hull of a boat, which lifts the boat partially out of the water during forward motion, in order to reduce drag.

The Hydrofoil is very economic and save a lot of gas.

You can easy transport with a speed up to 50 knots (93 km/h)about 50 passengers and freight. You should be able to get a second hand hydrofoil in Italy, Macao or Hong Kong.

Passenger Boat Manufacturers
Ukrainian built Voskhods are one of the most successful passenger hydrofoil designs. Currently, they are in service in more than 20 countries. The most recent model Voskhod-2M FFF, also known as Eurofoil, was built in Feodosiya, Ukraine, for the Dutch public transport operator Connexxion.[8]

The Boeing 929 is widely used in Asia for passenger services between the many islands of Japan, in China and on the Korean peninsula.

If I had the funds, it would be good investment for me.

I think reading some news articles about water taxi service in Belize through searches on the Internet might change your mind about that line of work.

You might want to look at the draft on those hydrofoils before you invest.

The Boeing Hydrofoils went into service between Oahu, Maui, and Kona, Hawaii many years ago but met with all kinds of problems..a major one being collisions with whales. I think that the collision problem with manatees might be a major problem here.
Those hydrofoils were eventually relocated to Hong Kong where they began the HK to Macao service
