Pam - If you could get one of the sewing ladies on the island to donate some fabric offcuts and a bit of sewing time then you could maybe get some beanbags made. A lot of stores get stuff delivered with the poly peanuts that they throw away or you can buy the filler online for about $25us for enough to fill a kids bag.
I have all our grankids collecting books for elementary age. The 12-1:00 daily reading gets a lot of 5-8yrs. Don't think I can read "Go Dog Go" one more time, so any for that age group would also be great.
OMG I know "go dog go" by heart and my youngest is 26. I will check about the poly peanuts. We ned to use really strong fabric as the bean bags get a lot of rough use. Kate at Sew what has been donating and we have 4 bags from her but she pays about 200 for the filler alone.
