A national celebration of the Queen's Birthday.
Banks and Schools are closed. Pedro's taking the Express to town to sell some coconut Water. He hopes to get it $8.bz a gal.

I ask him what holiday it was and he said,'I don't know!'.
I ask him if he had opened the Coconuts by himself and he said, 'My Dad did'.
I ask him if he was sharing the money with his dad and he said, 'No!'.
I ask him if Gringos asked a lot of stupid questions and he said, Yes!'.

Doesn't sound like a profitable venture.

I don't think the schools kids get charged for the Express ride and hes cutting out his dad, he probably doesn't charge GST or pay income tax, doesn't have to join the BTB, BTIA, buy a Trade License or carry liability Insurance.
So the $8. bz is probably a good time in town on a day off from school.

What does this have to do with Sovereign's Day other than a 5 or 6 year old kid doesn't understand the day off. In Canada and other parts of the Commonwealth more than just schools and banks are closed (ie stores, malls, business, stock market, gov't etc.). Here it's called Victoria Day to honour Queen Victoria but now, as in Belize, we also celebrate Queen Elizabeth's birthday on the same day. Kind of like President's Day in the US.

It has very little to do with it, Happy Birthday Elizabeth, many more!
