Ambergris Today received confirmation that a crew from National Geographic Magazine was on the Island since last week and spent days visiting the Hol Chan Marine Reserve.
We are told that the magazine will feature our magnificent marine reserve in an eight page spread early next year.
The crew spent countless hours underwater at the Hol Chan Marine Reserve with professional dive and photography equipment making sure that they capture the true essence and beauty that is the Hol Chan Marine reserve, as part of Belize’s Great Barrier Reef. They even performed night dives to capture the marine life at night.
This coverage comes at the right time when Island residents want to create more awareness of the importance of conserving this natural resource which could possibly be threatened by offshore oil drilling exploration in the near future.
