I nabbed an artifact and hung it on the wall. The crew thinks I'm crazy for wanting to hang this old Journeys End sign painted on a surf board on the wall of our dive shop.
Journeys End is a large piece of the islands diving history...Hell its a large piece of the diving worlds history.
It was here when I came and used to be edge of the civilized world and the beginning of the frontier.
Lots of huge memories for a great number of the diving community members.

What is happening to the place? Is it being torn down? Renovated and renamed?

Great nab Elbert!!!
Journey's End was my first experience on Ambergris 1993. My first time snorkeling and it opened up a whole new way of thinking. Loved it and have returned many time to AC.

Its being reopened in a different name. Were excited hearing about the new company's ideas for marketing the place. Its going to be called Sak Beh Bungalows and Beach Club.
It sounds like it will retain some of the original charm.

What does that mean "Sak Beh"? Also, the original charm is fine, but are they going to refurbish?

Journeys End had a history of being a dive mecca, 30 years that I know of maybe more.
Larry Parker had the dive shop here when I first came to the island.
