Wow, guys, I sincerely didn't mean to open up a can of worms here...(pun intended!)
We have traveled the world enough to know that some of the best fishing, meals, experiences, etc have come from word-of-mouth recommendations from locals. We love AC so much (our 9th trip this time) and I was just looking for another recommendation or two since the person my husband used on our last trip wasn't all that great. (Don't remember who he was -honestly- since I rarely accompany him on flats trips).
SF Jeff- I agree with your post 100%. Being a professional saltwater fisherman means a guide won't have to spend 2 hours showing my hubby how to work the equipment or explain why things are done a certain way. Obviously, because we are not on AC all the time, even a pro knows a local will have all the important info needed about where the fish are right now, best ways to get into tight areas, tides, etc. I just really wanted to make sure we could find someone used to handling an experienced angler who may want to grind all day long for some big tarpon and not someone who is used to tourists who don't know anything about fishing or what they want to catch.
Please accept my apologies for stirring up any trouble in the previous posts. It wasn't my intention at all. My hubby has already spoken with Abby's wife (sweet gal) and seems impressed with what they offer. My hope is that the 5 guys will come back with great pictures and even better stories of big fish landed!
I am thankful for each bit of information offered here...it all helps!
