I know I have seen a sign for Money Gram but can't remember where. I need to send some funds to SP but don't want to until I can confirm the location where they can be picked up. Thanks in advance for your help.

WU yes (three I think, Milos, Wings +1 can't remember), MoneyGram had some legal issues that I'm not sure have been resolved.

I know on Caye Caulker Western Union can be picked up at the bank. Not sure about Money gram. They don't have the outlets that WU has.

Open a Bank account and use Wire Transfer. You will get you money in 2-3 working day's and the expenses are only about 10 US.

If you send more as 90 US to Belize this i the most economic,
safest and easiest way.

If you don't have a bank account in Belize, just transfer your
funds to your credit card account and do a cash advance here in Belize.

Western Union kills you with there high expenses.

If you don't need to transfer a huge sum, a series of ATM withdrawals from your home checking or savings account on your debit card can work. I believe Atlantic Bank still allows a BZ$1000/US$500 daily limit, so in theory, if the ATM is working, in a week you could get BZ$7000. Both your home bank and the bank in Belize will charge a withdrawal fee plus an your home bank likely will charge an international transaction fee, and these fees add up.

But each withdraw is 5 USD. If you get 5000 USD by wire, its still only 10 US in fees.

Because the fees always go by each transaction, then it is always the best to transfer all the money you need at once or take at the ATM as much a as possible at once.

If you have a checkbook just write a check and go to Milo's. Not only will they cash it for you but you'll get 2.02 or something like that on the exchange.

It does cost alot to get money from the bank. We stay for 3 months and it was an extra 300 after getting money form the bz bank. So this Milo's check cashing sounds good to me. Does he charge a lot to get a check cashed and does anyone know how much you can write a check out for at a time?

Thanks
Denise
