I can understand Spartan's concern..I'm from Hawaii and have never adjusted to the coldest cold fronts. They aren't that severe but I'm a sissy!

Everyone has their favorite way to deal with cash. Travelers checks are generally accepted, credit cards are used in most places (Am Ex less so than Vias and MC), there are several ATM machines and I recall reading on some thread here that you can even cash a personal check someplace on AC. Each has a cost, ATM fees, exchange fees, etc. I use Credit cards so I don't carry much cash I pay the fees. I also using the ATM since I often stay a month at a time. Pay their fees as well. Pick your poison.

Well, it's similar here in Florida except that it's against the law here to wear socks. Can't wait to get there.

On another note, anyone know anything about "Coconuts Caribbean Resort"? It doesn't seem to be listed on this site under lodging nor on the map. The closest on the map is "Coconut's Hotel and Casino". Is this the same place? I did find a website at http://www.coconutsbelize.com/ but again I can't tell if it's the same as what's listed on the map.

The reason I ask is, checking all the travel websites for package discounts this is listed as the best deal by a good margin.

OK, I haven't seen any response yet on Coconuts so I need to ask one more time. Anybody have any current info on the place? This is a $350/person ($700) point for two weeks stay. For us it's Mata Rocks for the additional $350 per vs. Coconuts. I just can't find much info on Coconuts so anything anybody can throw in here would be helpful.

Greg.

KLC,
I would accept that as an axiom. But, you know what they say - if something is too good to be true, it usually is. That's why we were looking for some feedback here to determine if this package is too good to be true or not.

I can find feedback on every place coming up in these packages except this one place. For it, all we have to go on is the website mentioned above and relying on that is a bit like going to a Ford dealer and asking them what they think of a Ford - not to mention a Chevy.

This place is THAT much lower than everything else. All the others are within about $100 of each other (Mata had our vote till this came up).

I can think of a lot of things to use that $350 for starting with more beer. Then there's more beer and in third place is more beer. The flip side is if this place is a nightmare then it's worth spending the extra $350.

So, anything - at all - good, bad, or indifferent will help us determine is this too good to be true. Oh, and if it is REAL, drinks CAN be on us for anyone that helps solve this mystery.

Warning? Really. I would have thought a PM would be a much more secure, not to mention easier, method of communication for that purpose. Obviously I don't have the skills to detect such a thing here, nor do I have any interest in learning such skills. In my last career, aviataion, that particular skill was one to be avoided at all cost.

All we were trying to do was make a financial decision. Fortunately I did receive a PM so the financial decision has been made. For the PM - I can't thank you enough for your honesty and directness. For everyone else, I appreciate your patience in this matter.
