Just spoke to my mom in Belize City. As previously reported the electricity and water are off and the phone lines are sporadic. The streets are flooding badly - they live on Cleghorn Street and the wind is picking up. She thinks the storm is closer to Belize City than previously reported because the winds are stronger now than they have been. According to reports on the radio, Mr. Reyes from Caye Caulker managed to call in. He said that the backside of the island had experienced a lot of damage - some of the samller structures are down and at one point there was up to four feet of flooding. Also he reported that the roof from the school (which is a shelter) had flown off. So, the relocated the people there to other shelters. He reported that there were no severe injuries.
